From immersion to collective innovation
Participatory workshop | Transition fortnight 2026
What if virtual reality became the starting point for collective innovation?
As part of the UCLouvain Transition Fortnight, themed this year as “Dialoguing,” the OpenHub invites you to an immersive workshop combining virtual reality, design thinking, and collective intelligence.
Through a virtual reality experience from the VR4SDGs platform, participants will discover a concrete issue related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
But the experience doesn't stop at immersion!
Guided by the facilitators from OpenHub, participants will be invited to confront their perceptions, identify needs, and mobilize their creativity to collectively imagine innovative solution pathways.
The goal? To experiment with how to move from individual awareness to a collective approach to innovation.
On the agenda
The workshop is structured around five steps:
- Immerse — Explore a societal challenge through a virtual reality experience.
- Understand — Share observations, confront viewpoints, and identify issues.
- Reformulate — Transform observations into a common innovation challenge.
- Imagine — Mobilize design thinking methods and collaborative ideation to bring forth solutions.
Why participate?
This workshop is an opportunity to discover how immersive technologies and participatory innovation methods can complement each other to tackle complex challenges.
You will concretely experience several tools used by OpenHub to facilitate collective intelligence, stimulate creativity, and transform ideas into tangible concepts.
No prior knowledge in virtual reality, design, or innovation is required. Only your curiosity and desire to collaborate matter!
