A session to discover and build together
Co-organized by OpenHub and The POD, with the support of AILouvain and Agoria, this session allowed for the introduction of the StudentLabs program and facilitated meetings around future collaborative projects.
The event was opened by Professor Françoise Smets, Rector of UCLouvain, who emphasized the importance of service learning: allowing students to engage in real, concrete projects with a strong societal and educational impact.
The highlights of the afternoon:
Presentation of the StudentLabs program: its operation, its rigorous methodology, and the concrete results from previous editions;
Cross-testimonials from students and companies about their collaboration experiences;
Roundtable discussions to collaboratively envision the projects for the Summer 2026 edition, with the support of the engineers from OpenHub.
An institutional recognition for OpenHub
This session also marked an important milestone in the history of OpenHub: we are now officially recognized as one of the technological platforms of UCLouvain.
This recognition validates years of commitment to innovation, experimentation, and support for impactful projects. It positions OpenHub as a key player in the university ecosystem, at the intersection of research, education, and the professional world.
Specifically, this strengthens our ability to:
Support collaborations between businesses and students on real projects,
Deploy our prototyping and design thinking methodology on a larger scale,
Actively contribute to the training, innovation, and community service missions led by UCLouvain.
